The Santa Clara Church is one of my favorite churches in which to photograph! This is a beautiful Catholic church in Oxnard. Outside it has a red brick facade, and a great set of stairs in front for formals. Inside it is very spacious, with a balcony and tall, tall white ceilings.
One of my favorite things about this church is that there are two doors in the back of the altar that stay open during the ceremony, allowing photography of the bride and groom's faces while they are on the altar looking forward. The rules also permit flash photography and allow access in front of the first pew.
The only drawback I can think of is that this is a popular Catholic church for weddings, so there may not be as much time to hang around before or after the ceremony as you'd like due to the next/previous wedding.
But that is a small tradeoff for the beauty of this church, and the acommodations they make for photography, such as allowing flash and granting access to certain spots. And since we are talking about hour long ceremonies here, there is ample opportunity to work different angles, lenses, compositions, etc. Highly recommended!
